Soeun is an artist and lawyer based in New York and Seoul.
Musician: Soeun has released five studio albums during her 20-year career. Her most recent album “Notes on a Poem” (July 2025), which she also produced, is a musical interpretation of an anthology of poems for children. The release was followed by a series of concerts in New York and Seoul.
Writer: She is a columnist for a legal media organization (법률 신문) where she writes about a wide spectrum of legal issues affecting the US and Korea. She also writes for publications such as Vogue Korea, where she interviews and profiles artists and literary figures, such as Korean American authors Minjin Lee and Jenny Han. She frequently contributes to Monthly Essays, one of Korea’s longest running literary magazines.
Soeun most recently joined the creative team of a Korean family musical production based on a popular picture book series. She is slated to write the book and co-write the music for the production, which is scheduled to have its world premiere in December 2026.
Author: Soeun is an author of two books (Artist Soeun Lee Goes to Law School, and Who I am Now is Enough) published by Samsung Publishing Company and Suobooks, respectively. She is currently working on an interview book with professionals in media, art, law, and business, as well as a picture book series.
Producer/Entrepreneur: Soeun founded calLEEope Studio, a kids media production company that creates and produces original stories and content across various mediums, including music, books, audio series, and animation.
Speaker: She frequently serves as host and EmCee of art/cultural events and startup conferences across the US, most recently moderating a panel discussion with the First Lady of Korea during UN General Assembly week. She wrote and filmed an online lecture series with Hunet (the largest online education platform in Korea) on public speaking. She also is a frequent speaker on leadership, career, and US/Korea relations and has spoken at Asia Society, Korea Society, New York University, Northwestern University School of Law, and Princeton University. During her legal career, she served as spokesperson for ICC and spoke at Google, Warner Bros., Apple, Mattel.

(Kul-LEE-oh-pee) - calLEEope is a play on Calliope, the muse of epic poetry whose name means “beautiful voice”. It is the creative studio of Soeun Lee, artist and entrepreneur.
